Day one of the waiting for papers

Today we had all to ourselves as we wait for the passports and other official documents/appointments.
As you can see we spent some time playing in the hotel room, watching a Barney video and of course hanging out with my Sister. I must say my sister is the Best! She teaches and is a coordinator at an elementary International School so you talk about having a perfect companion for the trip.... I got it! Thank God for family.
We also spent part of the day at a large mall here in the capital (it was like an American Mall). We took a taxi to and from the mall and hotel, both kids got a little more experience sitting in a travel mode (we are working on getting them ready for all the plane seats). At the mall we had them sit in the strollers (again thinking of airports) and as we arrived just as it was opening and stayed until lunch we gave the kids time to adjust to large crowds slowly.
I have to report that both kids did well and we even had a good lunch in the food court. Later, after naps and some in room playtime, we took the kids for a walk around the sidewalks. They both walked well holding hands and the only sign of discomfort came from Dayton. He did not like the loud, noisy trolleys and buses as they passed. He would grunt and screw his face up - I think that's really good considering the newness.
Today also gave me a chance to try on clothe sizes, and report back to my wonderful Wife all the details of eating, socializing and adjustment so she can make the changes back home. I am very much missing her and my other children so I thank God we can send emails - even if it is hours apart.
Today was a great day for Dayton. He has been somewhat stand offish, sometimes not wanting to be touched. Well, today he decided these two taking care of him were OK enough to really want some snuggling. Maya, of course, has been the socialite from the beginning. Also, today I really noticed Dayton wanting to interact with Maya as they copied each other playing. She has a head start on him in playing and interacting with others so he has a great little role model. I just know he is going to be surrounded even more with good role models when he gets to know his older sisters back home... Hey, Girls be ready for some watchful eyes and being followed around by your new little brother an sister!
