Runners to Your Marks

Round 2 - the Gotcha trip.
The date is almost here, bags are packed, re-packed, packed, re-packed... trying to get all the items the kids are going to need and Dad too, all into one bag (not overweight) has really been a chore. Thank you God for a smart Wife and her ability to plan and create lists. Yes, I will be taking a detailed list with me... you know it's a husband thing. We created a small photo album for each child with photos from the first visit that I can share and hopefully reassure them that I'm not just some guy taking them from nowhere.
We are going to try to pick up Dayton Daniel Jensen first and then Maya Helen Jensen after. The reason for this is that Maya was in Dayton's orphanage for her first three years and we are afraid that she might think she was going back. I know that in the long run our kids will be fine, it is just hard thinking about how scared they might be. Our other kids are so excited for them to get here and I want to say a big Thank You Jesus that we are fully funded.
Hey... a really neat thing happened.
After we were interviewed by our local TV station, a young lady (just graduated from college) contacted us. She was adopted from the same country our kiddos are in by a family in a nearby community back in 1994. She shared with us a written account she made of a return trip her and her adopted Dad took to revisit her past. They stayed in the same city our kids are in as she was from a nearby location. Talk about a small world.... also, I think it is really cool to know someone who was in one of the first groups to be adopted internationally from the country.
God bless you all,
Dan
